SUMMARY:Logan Richardson’s Blues PEOPLE
DESCRIPTION:Born and raised in Kansas City\, Missouri—a city deeply rooted in jazz heritage—Logan Richardson is a distinguished alto saxophonist\, composer\, and producer known for his genre-defying approach to Black American Music. He began performing professionally at 16\, later studying at Berklee College of Music in Boston and The New School in New York City. Throughout his career\, Richardson has collaborated with an array of visionary artists\, including Pat Metheny\, Jason Moran\, and Nasheet Waits.  Logan Richardson’s visionary project — blues PEOPLE — merges blues\, rock\, soul\, and modern jazz into a sound that reflects the rich complexity of Black American culture. Inspired by Amiri Baraka’s seminal work\, “blues PEOPLE: Negro Music in White America\,” the band channels the evolution of Black music—from its roots in struggle to its boundless creative expressions today.

SUMMARY:Matt Von Roderick Band
DESCRIPTION:Inhabiting the rarified air of innovative jazz trumpeter and heart-centered crooner\, Matt Von Roderick has been hailed as “a post-millennial Chet Baker” by the New York Times and “a top-drawer trumpeter who also sings like an angel obscured by a storm cloud” by JazzTimes Magazine. \nMatt’s uplifting message and poignant sound have been featured among the world’s most celebrated venues\, including Carnegie Hall\, Lincoln Center and The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. If you can imagine a one-of-a-kind trumpet virtuosity paired with dreamy vocals\, deeply authentic jazz roots and soaring soundscapes\, you’re beginning to conjure the artistry of Matt Von Roderick. \nVon Roderick has enjoyed working with many of the most respected names in jazz and beyond\, including Brad Mehldau\, Kenny Werner\, Antonio Sanchez\, Chris Potter\, Neil Diamond\, Dionne Warwick and The Saturday Night Live Band. He genuinely loves his audiences — it is his great joy to bring you joy.

SUMMARY:Sheila E. & The E-Train
DESCRIPTION:Sheila E. \n\nGuided by the forces of family\, faith\, and music\, Sheila E. has made a name for herself as one of the most talented musical icons over the decades. With a fearless nature and a passion for sharing her gifts with others\, Sheila truly follows the beat of her own drum. She touches the lives of so many\, with her dynamic music career at the heart of everything. Sheila’s eagerness to share her music\, openness as an author\, and fire for her ministry make her such a relatable\, inspirational figure for people of all ages. \nBorn into a musical family\, Sheila Escovedo (Sheila E.) has been driven by an inner rhythm her entire life. As a young girl\, she was immersed in the diverse music scenes of the Bay Area—influenced and inspired by her percussionist father Pete Escovedo; musical uncles Coke Escovedo\, Alejandro Escovedo\, Mario Escovedo\, and Javier Escovedo; and godfather Tito Puente. Growing up in the Escovedo household\, musical instruments were for everyone. “Nobody cared as long as you could keep time (or have a good time)\,” she writes in her memoir\, The Beat Of My Own Drum. \nAt the age of 5\, Sheila gave her first public performance for an audience of 3\,000\, appearing alongside her dad. It was while on that stage playing a drum solo that Sheila first realized she was going to be a percussionist. Five decades later\, and the beat that has always driven her is showing no signs of slowing down. The famous drummer\, singer\, songwriter\, author\, humanitarian\, and icon is following the beat of her own drum. She considers music to be the purest form of self-expression and the one true love of her life.

They wear down fast for anyone spending hours outdoors or walking long distances to reach basic services. When a pair gives out\, there is no backup waiting in a closet. That is why suitable and durable shoes are one of the most requested items in colder months. \nThe Frontwave Give360 Coat and Comfort Drive helps meet these essential needs and reminds us how much we can do together. Join us from December 1 through January 16 and help keep our neighbors warm\, protected and cared for this winter. \nWhat We Need \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWARM COATS\n\n\n\nA warm\, everyday coat that keeps someone protected from the cold.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCLEAN BLANKETS\n\n\n\nA clean blanket that provides warmth and simple comfort when it’s needed the most.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDURABLE SHOES\n\n\n\nPractical shoes built for real miles: sneakers\, walking shoes or sturdy boots.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow to Donate \n\nDrop off new or gently used coats\, blankets and shoes at any Frontwave branch.\nBring donations to Frontwave Arena on event days or to the box office Monday through Friday\, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.\nMake a tax-deductible financial donation online and we will purchase the items needed most.\n\nEasy ways to find what to donate: \n\nIf you haven’t worn it in a while or have been saving it for “someday\,” now is the moment to pass it on.\nCheck closets for outgrown kids’ coats or blankets you’ve replaced.\nTake advantage of seasonal sales to grab an extra coat or pair of shoes.\nChoose items that are clean and in good condition so they can be used right away.\n\nEverything you share helps someone stay warm\, protected and cared for this winter. \nWho Your Donation Supports \nThe Frontwave Give360 Coat and Comfort Drive teams up with nonprofit partners across San Diego\, Imperial\, Riverside and San Bernardino counties to help more people stay warm and cared for this winter.
