SUMMARY:Coat and Comfort Drive
DESCRIPTION:Share the warmth. Spread the comfort. \nCoats keep people warm. Blankets help people rest. And shoes… shoes carry people through the hardest parts of winter. \nCoats\, blankets and shoes make immediate impact. A warm coat protects someone from the cold. A clean blanket brings comfort at night. And shoes keep their feet warm and dry. Shelters and outreach teams hand them out constantly because people depend on them every day. \nShoes are the essential many people overlook during these colder months. They wear down fast for anyone spending hours outdoors or walking long distances to reach basic services. When a pair gives out\, there is no backup waiting in a closet. That is why suitable and durable shoes are one of the most requested items in colder months. \nThe Frontwave Give360 Coat and Comfort Drive helps meet these essential needs and reminds us how much we can do together. Join us from December 1 through January 16 and help keep our neighbors warm\, protected and cared for this winter. \nWhat We Need \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWARM COATS\n\n\n\nA warm\, everyday coat that keeps someone protected from the cold.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCLEAN BLANKETS\n\n\n\nA clean blanket that provides warmth and simple comfort when it’s needed the most.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDURABLE SHOES\n\n\n\nPractical shoes built for real miles: sneakers\, walking shoes or sturdy boots.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow to Donate \n\nDrop off new or gently used coats\, blankets and shoes at any Frontwave branch.\nBring donations to Frontwave Arena on event days or to the box office Monday through Friday\, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.\nMake a tax-deductible financial donation online and we will purchase the items needed most.\n\nEasy ways to find what to donate: \n\nIf you haven’t worn it in a while or have been saving it for “someday\,” now is the moment to pass it on.\nCheck closets for outgrown kids’ coats or blankets you’ve replaced.\nTake advantage of seasonal sales to grab an extra coat or pair of shoes.\nChoose items that are clean and in good condition so they can be used right away.\n\nEverything you share helps someone stay warm\, protected and cared for this winter. \nWho Your Donation Supports \nThe Frontwave Give360 Coat and Comfort Drive teams up with nonprofit partners across San Diego\, Imperial\, Riverside and San Bernardino counties to help more people stay warm and cared for this winter. SUMMARY:Matt Von Roderick Band
DESCRIPTION:Inhabiting the rarified air of innovative jazz trumpeter and heart-centered crooner\, Matt Von Roderick has been hailed as “a post-millennial Chet Baker” by the New York Times and “a top-drawer trumpeter who also sings like an angel obscured by a storm cloud” by JazzTimes Magazine. \nMatt’s uplifting message and poignant sound have been featured among the world’s most celebrated venues\, including Carnegie Hall\, Lincoln Center and The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. If you can imagine a one-of-a-kind trumpet virtuosity paired with dreamy vocals\, deeply authentic jazz roots and soaring soundscapes\, you’re beginning to conjure the artistry of Matt Von Roderick. \nVon Roderick has enjoyed working with many of the most respected names in jazz and beyond\, including Brad Mehldau\, Kenny Werner\, Antonio Sanchez\, Chris Potter\, Neil Diamond\, Dionne Warwick and The Saturday Night Live Band. Von Roderick and his clarion tone have appeared in numerous film and television spots including SNL and The Ellen Show\, as well as at events with best-selling author and spiritual activist Marianne Williamson. Matt was named the 1st place winner of The Independent Music Awards Jazz Category as judged by progressive Rock icon Lou Reed\, awarded as finalist in the prestigious Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition\, and was a recipient of the Vilar Global Fellowship\, dubbed the “Rhodes Scholarship” of the performing arts by The New York Times. \nVon Roderick often combines his classic\, lush tones with adventurous vocal/trumpet multi-phonics\, a dash of loops and contemporary spoken word to create what the International Trumpet Guild calls “exquisite”\, while Downbeat Magazine describes his musical approach as being “Zen-like”. \nMatt Von Roderick prioritizes the spiritual aspects of music. He genuinely loves his audiences — it is his great joy to bring you joy.
