SUMMARY:Coastal Collectors Expo 2026 – Southern California’s Biggest Card Show of the Year
DESCRIPTION:Cards and Collectors began the same way so many great Pokémon adventures do—with a couple of kids at the lunch table\, trading cards and chasing the thrill of finding that one card everyone wanted. \nRyan\, our founder\, started collecting in the late ’90s\, when Base Set packs were on store shelves and the original anime had just captured the hearts of millions. Over the years\, what began as a childhood hobby evolved into a lifelong passion—one that connected him to incredible people\, amazing events\, and unforgettable memories. \nFast forward to today\, and Cards and Collectors is here to bring that same joy to a global audience. Whether you’re opening your first booster pack or carefully adding to a graded collection\, we’re building a place where the excitement never fades. \n\nOur Mission \nTo connect Pokémon card collectors around the world through: \n\nA Trusted Marketplace – Buy and sell confidently\, knowing our community is built on authenticity and respect.\nEvents & Meetups – From local gatherings to large-scale conventions\, we create spaces where collectors can connect in person.\nShared Knowledge – Through blogs\, videos\, and community forums\, we help collectors of all levels learn\, grow\, and share their passion.

SUMMARY:José James presents 1978: Revenge of The Dragon
DESCRIPTION:Jose James\n\nJosé James is both conductor and conduit. Across 17 years as a singer\, songwriter\, bandleader\,\nand producer — not to mention co-head of the fearless Rainbow Blonde Records since 2018 —\nhe’s dived deep\, over and over again\, into genres\, eras\, scenes\, and songbooks\, exploring with\nthe verve of a reverent musicologist\, and then churning it all up with the confidence of a master\npractitioner. Blessed with a silken baritone that sounds classic against any backdrop\, James first\nturned heads on his 2008 debut The Dreamer by subtly swirling contemporary jazz with hip-hop\ninstrumentation. As it turned out\, mixing those two fluid\, frenetic\, and frequently time-travelling\nstrains set off a deeply soulful discography that knows no bounds. There was his stunning Blue\nNote breakthrough No Beginning No End (2013)\, recorded with fellow genre upsetters like Pino\nPalladino and Robert Glasper. There was an album of standards\, For All We Know (2010); the\nrock-addled While You Were Sleeping (2014); and that time he ditched the bands and became a\nmodern R&B star for Love in a Time of Madness (2017). He’s also taken a Method approach to\ncovers projects — even matching his wardrobe to his subjects’ worlds — like 2015’s Yesterday I\nHad the Blues (Billie Holiday)\, 2018’s Lean On Me (Bill Withers)\, and 2023’s On & On (Erykah\nBadu). He’s released dynamic live LPs\, a Christmas set\, and a four-album series inspired by\nhooky\, funky\, disco-dipped songcraft of the ’70s\, culminating in his latest\, 1978: Revenge of the\nDragon (2025). That last one is as immediate\, unpredictable\, and vibrant as anything James\nhas made\, affirming the mantra in the lead single’s title: “They Sleep\, We Grind.”

SUMMARY:Atmosphere Film Festival
DESCRIPTION:In November of 2021\, we hosted a premiere for our documentary Paralyzed to Peaks at La Paloma Theatre. It was our first time ever showcasing a film at a theatre. and it was such a special experience bringing people together. This inspired us to give local artists a place to feature their work and share stories of their own. In December of 2022\, we hosted our first ever Atmosphere Film Festival\, a curation of art\, music\, and film for the community. We showcased artwork from 7 local artists\, premiered films from 9 directors\, and enjoyed a live music performance from our friends The Wide Eyed Kids . Since then\, the event has grown into a two-night experience and become an annual highlight in Encinitas. The Atmosphere Film Festival will return to La Paloma Theatre in January of 2026 for the 4th rendition. Tickets are now available!

SUMMARY:Taryn Donath
DESCRIPTION:An accomplished musician who has been performing professionally for over 25 years\, Taryn has an incredibly commanding performance style….each live performance is exciting and spontaneous. Her piano playing is tenacious and purposeful\, while her voice is smooth\, sultry\, and unique to her. Taryn lights up the stage every\ntime she plays. \nCurrently\, Taryn has been performing as a duo with a drummer… Fresh\, unique and exciting the two play anything from 60’s soul jazz\, funk\, jump/swing\, Latin\, and their own term of beatnik blues taking the listener on a musical adventure. With an unwavering left hand\, a right hand that weaves in and out effortlessly\, and a backbeat as solid as a rock\, the Duo has a sound larger than life.\nEach performance is different from the last\, capturing the moods of the players. The two are not bound by rules\, but instead have a desire to express their own musical voice and deliver something captivating. \n“I look forward to creating something unique each time I play.”- Taryn

DESCRIPTION:Sheila E. \n\nGuided by the forces of family\, faith\, and music\, Sheila E. has made a name for herself as one of the most talented musical icons over the decades. With a fearless nature and a passion for sharing her gifts with others\, Sheila truly follows the beat of her own drum. She touches the lives of so many\, with her dynamic music career at the heart of everything. Sheila’s eagerness to share her music\, openness as an author\, and fire for her ministry make her such a relatable\, inspirational figure for people of all ages. \nBorn into a musical family\, Sheila Escovedo (Sheila E.) has been driven by an inner rhythm her entire life. As a young girl\, she was immersed in the diverse music scenes of the Bay Area—influenced and inspired by her percussionist father Pete Escovedo; musical uncles Coke Escovedo\, Alejandro Escovedo\, Mario Escovedo\, and Javier Escovedo; and godfather Tito Puente. Growing up in the Escovedo household\, musical instruments were for everyone. “Nobody cared as long as you could keep time (or have a good time)\,” she writes in her memoir\, The Beat Of My Own Drum. \nAt the age of 5\, Sheila gave her first public performance for an audience of 3\,000\, appearing alongside her dad. It was while on that stage playing a drum solo that Sheila first realized she was going to be a percussionist. Five decades later\, and the beat that has always driven her is showing no signs of slowing down. The famous drummer\, singer\, songwriter\, author\, humanitarian\, and icon is following the beat of her own drum. She considers music to be the purest form of self-expression and the one true love of her life.

SUMMARY:Coat and Comfort Drive
DESCRIPTION:Share the warmth. Spread the comfort. \nCoats keep people warm. Blankets help people rest. And shoes… shoes carry people through the hardest parts of winter. \nCoats\, blankets and shoes make immediate impact. A warm coat protects someone from the cold. A clean blanket brings comfort at night. And shoes keep their feet warm and dry. Shelters and outreach teams hand them out constantly because people depend on them every day. \nShoes are the essential many people overlook during these colder months. They wear down fast for anyone spending hours outdoors or walking long distances to reach basic services. When a pair gives out\, there is no backup waiting in a closet. That is why suitable and durable shoes are one of the most requested items in colder months. \nThe Frontwave Give360 Coat and Comfort Drive helps meet these essential needs and reminds us how much we can do together. Join us from December 1 through January 16 and help keep our neighbors warm\, protected and cared for this winter. \nWhat We Need \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWARM COATS\n\n\n\nA warm\, everyday coat that keeps someone protected from the cold.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCLEAN BLANKETS\n\n\n\nA clean blanket that provides warmth and simple comfort when it’s needed the most.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDURABLE SHOES\n\n\n\nPractical shoes built for real miles: sneakers\, walking shoes or sturdy boots.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHow to Donate \n\nDrop off new or gently used coats\, blankets and shoes at any Frontwave branch.\nBring donations to Frontwave Arena on event days or to the box office Monday through Friday\, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.\nMake a tax-deductible financial donation online and we will purchase the items needed most.\n\nEasy ways to find what to donate: \n\nIf you haven’t worn it in a while or have been saving it for “someday\,” now is the moment to pass it on.\nCheck closets for outgrown kids’ coats or blankets you’ve replaced.\nTake advantage of seasonal sales to grab an extra coat or pair of shoes.\nChoose items that are clean and in good condition so they can be used right away.\n\nEverything you share helps someone stay warm\, protected and cared for this winter. \nWho Your Donation Supports \nThe Frontwave Give360 Coat and Comfort Drive teams up with nonprofit partners across San Diego\, Imperial\, Riverside and San Bernardino counties to help more people stay warm and cared for this winter.
