SUMMARY:Move to Music Dance Fundraiser
DESCRIPTION:The Parkinson’s and Movement Disorder Foundation (PMDF) and the National Spasmodic Torticollis Association (NSTA) are partnering up to raise funds for movement disorder research. We are hosting the second MOVE TO MUSIC Dance Fundraiser. \nDance can improve mood\, increase range of motion\, enhance body awareness\, reduce anxiety\, and enhance overall emotional well-being. \nJoin us at this casual\, fun\, family-friendly fundraising and awareness event in Fountain Valley\, California. Challenge yourself to dance for 60 minutes\, dance to one song\, or sit in a chair and move your torso and arms to the music. \n\nThe dance will be led by Oleg Suvorov\, of Dance All You Can. Oleg Suvorov\, a native of St. Petersburg\, Russia\, naturally gravitated toward ballroom dance when his mother enrolled him in lessons at the age of 7. During his youth career\, he won city and regional dance competitions and was a finalist at the national level. In1991\, after a hiatus from competitive dancing\, Oleg decided to move to the United States\, where he returned to dance as both a professional competitor and instructor. In 1993\, Oleg officially began his professional competitive career\, winning several Rising Star events with his partner at the time. \nIn 1996\, Oleg teamed up with Tatiana Pavlova. Together\, they became one of the nation’s most notable professional dance teams. They won numerous open professional events throughout the U.S.\, including prestigious titles such as US National Professional Grand Finalists in 2001\, 2002\, and 2003\, and World Cup Finalists in 2003 and 2004. They also claimed victory in the Ballroom Overall category at the Ohio Star Ball in 2002. After retiring in 2005\, Oleg and Tatiana shifted their focus from their professional careers to teaching and competing in Pro/Am events with their students\, as well as judging. Teaching has been Oleg’s passion ever since. “At this point in my life\, I can’t imagine doing anything other than teaching people to dance. I believe teaching is one of the very few professions where you can positively impact someone’s life\, whether they are 5 or 105. It brings me great joy.” – Oleg \nThe environment is movement disorder-friendly\, where you choose how much you want to dance or to move. After the dancing\, enjoy lunch provided by Katella Deli in Los Alamitos.

DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, August 31\, 2025 – 5:00pm\n\n\n\nCover:\n\n$20 PRESALE + Fees $25 Day of Show\n\n\n\nDoor Time:\n\n4:.00 PM\n\n\n\nTicket Link:\n\nGet Tickets Here\n\n\n\n\n\nWinstons. With just one word I am transported back to a time of innocence and fellowship and friendship and fun. Fun! Like when we were in kindergarten! We had a good seven year run from 1988 – 1995 and I can’t tell you how many times someone has come up to me and said\, “I saw your show at Winstons” or “I met my husband or wife at Winstons” or “My child was conceived at Winstons.” It was a magical time and\, as far as I know\, never done before and not repeated since. It was just a special time. It was our special church. No Bibles but we sang. And we danced like holy rollers slain in the spirit. And we had fellowship. And we made lifelong friendships. And we shared our joy. From all walks of life\, from north county to south bay we had people dancing. You might see someone from Skyline dancing with someone from Rancho Santa Fe! Or El Cajon dancing with Coronado! The entire city was represented in that little bar every Sunday from 5 to 9. And we shared our love. We actually called it church! And what is church if not a group of people getting together and having a good time celebrating life? \n\n\n\n\nWebsite Link:\n\nhttps://earlthomasmusic.com/\nhttps://www.instagram.com/mr.earlthomas/\n\n\n\nFacebook Link:\n\nhttps://www.facebook.com/Earl-Thomas-Music-253502361766870/

SUMMARY:Cyndi Lauper - Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour
DESCRIPTION:…with Special Guests \nThe icon says goodbye over a pair of nights. \nIn 1983\, a relatively unknown singer named Cyndi Lauper put out her debut album\, entitled She’s So Unusual. Within two years\, she’d be a superstar\, tracks like “Time After Time” and “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” would cement themselves as among the greatest pop songs of the 20th century\, and she’d take home her first Grammy. \nIn the five decades since\, she hasn’t slowed down. Her song “True Colors” became an anthem for the LGBTQ community\, and “Time After Time” is a standard that’s been covered by the likes of P!nk\, Sam Smith\, and Miles Davis\, who performed it at his final concert\, which took place at the Hollywood Bowl. In the ’90s\, she picked up an Emmy for her guest spot on sitcom Mad About You\, and in the 2010s\, she composed the music and lyrics for the Broadway smash Kinky Boots—adding a Tony Award and another Grammy Award to her trophy case in the process. Her progressive pop and independent image have made her an influence on everyone from Lady Gaga to Katy Perry to Kim Petras. \nThis summer\, she waves goodbye\, bringing her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour to the Bowl. “I want to celebrate with people\,” she recently told Jimmy Kimmel. “Really celebrate with people and make it fun.” Be part of that celebration—and give this legendary pop star her flowers—on a pair of nights this summer. \nSee other concerts in this series

SUMMARY:CIVIL WAR DAYS
DESCRIPTION:LIVING HISTORY\nCivil War Days was founded thirty-two years ago by Maureen Rivers and Carl Clink in Bartlett Park behind the Newland House in Huntington Beach. Today we host dedicated re-enactors from all over the United States in this glorious event that is always free to the public. In years past Huntington Beach hosted the annual Western region encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic\, where veterans of the Civil War met to reminisce on their wartime experiences and promote veterans’ advocacy. We continue Huntington Beach’s proud historic tradition by promoting historical education and making history come alive for all of you. Enjoy your stay in 1864 and join us in commemorating the 160th Anniversary of the Civil War! \nhttps://www.hbhistory.org/_files/ugd/91755e_753dc3a6a7714d26bbeb60cfa1342527.pdf
