SUMMARY:Night of the Living Dead
DESCRIPTION:The Ford\, in partnership with Street Food Cinema\, is proud to present this special screening event of George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead—the seminal 1968 horror film that revolutionized the zombie genre in popular culture. \nThe film begins with a simple premise: a group of strangers take refuge in a remote farmhouse after a sudden outbreak of violent\, undead creatures begins to ravage the countryside. As the group struggles to survive\, tensions rise\, and the true horror becomes not just the relentless zombies outside but also the psychological strain the survivors experience within. \nWhile Night of the Living Dead is filled with chilling moments of terror\, it also explores themes of isolation\, fear\, and the breakdown of social order in times of crisis. It was revolutionary in its portrayal of race and its subversion of genre conventions\, offering a stark reflection of the era’s societal issues. Romero’s depiction of zombies as reanimated corpses ultimately became the blueprint for the genre\, helping him earn the nicknames “Godfather of the Dead” and “Father of the Zombie Film.”

SUMMARY:Aly & AJ with Amanda Shires
DESCRIPTION:The sister duo bring their new album’s Laurel Canyon sound and intimate storytelling to The Ford. \nAly & AJ burst onto Radio Disney and Billboard charts as teenagers with glossy pop hits like 2007’s “Potential Breakup Song.” But after a hiatus\, the duo has continually reinvented themselves\, producing increasingly mature and emotionally candid music drenched in a distinctly nostalgic California sound. Their 2023 album\, With Love From\, took inspiration from Americana\, country\, and ’70s rock acts like Fleetwood Mac for what Paste called “a dreamy road trip” with “heartfelt stories on a backdrop of outrageously addictive instrumentals.” \nFor Aly & AJ’s 2025 release\, Silver Deliverer\, the duo teamed up with producer Jonathan Wilson\, celebrated for his revival of the Laurel Canyon sound and known for his work with Father John Misty and Bonnie “Prince” Billy. Recorded in the Topanga Canyon with analog methods and live musicians\, Silver Deliverer draws in west coast harmonies and ripping electric guitar solos on vintage tube amps. Lyrically\, Aly & AJ offer intimate introspection about a range of personal topics including motherhood—as Aly spent the last three weeks of recording holding her own newborn. In announcing the album\, Aly & AJ write\, “This is rock music for wistful lovers\, new mothers\, and those who believe in divine intervention. And for listeners looking for a bit of hope and a deliverer in their own life.”

SUMMARY:The Pharcyde & Friends Live
DESCRIPTION:Commemorating the 30th Anniversary of Labcabincalifornia \nProduced in Partnership with Fusicology\nFri / July 18\, 2025 – 8:00PM\n\nThe LA hip-hop group performs their much-loved second album. \n\n\nThirty years ago\, when LA rap group The Pharcyde released their second album Labcabincalifornia\, there was nobody like them on the west coast. Vibe said the album was “reminiscent of early-career Sly & the Family Stone\, mid Stevie Wonder\, and late Sun Ra.” The Source said the hit single “Runnin’” was “a truly beautiful hip-hop song where the distinct elastic flow of each MC weaves over a Spanish-flavored guitar loop and sax sample.” The album cemented the members of The Pharcyde’s collective legacy as some of hip-hop’s farthest-out thinkers\, and it marked one of the first major appearances by a record producer calling himself Jay Dee\, sometimes known as J Dilla. In just a few short years\, he’d go on to become\, as NPR put it\, “one of the music industry’s most influential hip-hop artists.” For one night only\, The Pharcyde\, a full band\, and some very special guests will get together to celebrate 30 years of Labcabincalifornia\, as well as the always-expanding legacy of J Dilla.
