SUMMARY:Ballet Folklórico de México
DESCRIPTION:Founded in 1952 by dancer and choreographer Amalia Hernández\, Ballet Folklórico de México de Amalia Hernández brings together the music\, dance and costume of Mexican folklore from pre-Colombian civilizations to the modern era. The Ballet has a permanent residence at the iconic Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City\, and has choreographed over 120 ballets\, comprised of 60 folk dancers and musicians who continue to perform extensively across Mexico and abroad. \nAmalia Hernández\, the visionary\, and pioneer revolutionized the concept of Mexican traditional dance and forever transformed its history. Hernández devoted her time to the research of the folklore\, music\, costumes\, and dance of the states that comprise Mexico as a country\, and uniquely brought them to life creating performances that are a true portrait of Mexico’s beauty\, diversity and rich history through music and dance. Her repertoire has become a classic – one that is renewed\, transformed\, and enriched with the passage of time. \nThe company has reached over 45 million spectators worldwide and has received countless awards and accolades\, positioning itself as the premier folkloric dance ensemble in Mexico and around the world. \n\n*Both the 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. performances are sold out. Those seeking tickets are welcome to join the waitlist line in front of the Luckman Box Office 1 hour prior to the start of each performance. Tickets from any canceled reservations\, should they become available\, will be released for purchase on a first-come-first-served basis.
