Meet the Founder
A summa cum laude graduate of the esteemed Walter Cronkite School of Journalism at Arizona State University, Maria Felicia Kelley earned her BA degree in broadcast journalism. Maria is a former producer, writer and on-air host for Arizona PBS. Building on her expertise in media, Maria founded SoCal Spotlight—a collection of lifestyle and resource platforms featuring topics on Southern California celebrities, entertainment, food, and wellness. As the founder and publisher of The North County Moms, Maria connects parents and businesses in San Diego County through community outreach, ad sales, and brand promotion through her online and social media platforms.
High-end restaurant management ignited Maria’s enthusiasm for food and quality ingredients. Today, Maria is fascinated by the process of nourishing the body both physically and spiritually. Her goal is to inspire optimal function, including employing facets of a fasting lifestyle, daily cardio and weight training to achieve personal wellness goals. Maria has a zeal for researching whole foods to uncover the value added to the body. A focus on meditative practices and spiritual philosophies are important touchstones of Maria’s existence.
